When considering your high school options, you may have a number of questions regarding the costs of tuition, fees and other necessities.  Our Admissions Team is dedicated to helping each family create a strategy that works for them.  Thanks to the numerous options available, your St. Francis DeSales High School education CAN be affordable.

The idea of financing your high school education can seem overwhelming — it’s a major investment.  

Our commitment is to make a Catholic education affordable to each family.  Over the past three years, more than 50% of incoming St. Francis DeSales High School Freshmen have received some form of tuition assistance.

We also offer flexible tuition payment plans so that families can tailor their tuition payments to their financial schedule.

 

1. FIRST YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

There are 17 First Year Scholarship Awards available for students entering the ninth grade.  SFDHS applicants must complete a First Year Scholarship Application and obtain a teacher/advisor recommendation.

Msgr. James M.Berendt Memorial Scholarship  - $1,000 renewable ($4,000)

Carfagna Memorial Scholarship - 2 scholarships awarded ($1,000 each)

Grandparents Scholarship -  2 scholarships awarded ($1,000 each)

Jay Kubin Memorial Scholarship - $500

Patrick D. Rossetti Scholarship - $1,500 renewable ($6,000)

LCP Ryan E. Miller Memorial Scholarship - 2 scholarships awarded ($4000 each)

Alumni Legacy Scholarship - 4 scholarships awarded ($1,000 each)

Nancy Billy Memorial Scholarship - 2 scholarships awarded ($500 each)

Stallion Pride Scholarship - $1,000 renewable ($4,000)

Tom and Mary Kay Mulligan Family Scholarship - $1,000 renewable ($4,000)

John & Connie Sauter Family Endowed Scholarship - $500

Ron Landis Memorial Scholarship - $500

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Scholarship applications for current eighth grade students planning to enroll in the SFDHS Class of 2021 will be available on October 1, 2016.

  • Complete online application and essays.

  • An online recommendation needs to be completed by at least one teacher, advisor or coach.
  • Scholarship recipients are notified in early February.

CLASS OF 2021

 

2. MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and performance on the St. Francis DeSales Entrance Exam held on Janurary 21, 2017.  

  • St. Francis de Sales Scholarship - $3,500 renewable scholarship

  • Franciscan Sisters Scholarship - $1,500 renewable scholarship    

The Entrance Exam is a standardized test focusing on Math and English skills, which is designed to recognize a student's potential to be successful in a college preparatory program.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • All students that participate in the SFDHS Entrance Exam are eligible for merit scholarship.

  • Scholarship recipients are notified in early February.

ABOUT MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

  • The Class of 2020 was awarded sixteen St. Francis de Sales scholarships and seventeen Franciscan Sisters scholarships.

  • Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain high academic standards and serve as leaders in the community for renewal.

 

3. DIOCESAN GRANT APPLICATION FOR TUITION ASSISTANCE

Tuition assistance is available through the Legacy of Learning Fund from the Diocese of Columbus for Catholic and non-Catholic students to be used for tuition.  Determinations are based on financial need and circumstances.

  • Each year over $600,000 in tuition assistance is awarded to St. Francis DeSales students.

4.  SFDHS TUITION ASSISTANCE AND WORK STUDY PROGRAM

Families that have completed a Diocesan Grant Application may also apply for a St. Francis DeSales High School Tuition Grant.  Grants are awarded to students based on need, and they do not need to be repaid.  

Income is only one consideration when determining eligibility for need-based aid. Other significant factors include, but are not limited to, feeder school and parish involvement, family size, additional tuition expenses, and family circumstances.  

Work-Study is a need-based form of Tuition Assistance that a student can earn through campus employment during the summer or after school hours.  Students can earn up to $750.00 in tuition assistance for their involvement in this program.

  • Complete an online application.

  • Applicants will need to upload proof of income when completing this online application.

  • Applicants are typically notified in late May.

  • Work study participants will be scheduled in two week shifts throughout the summer.  Please indicate summer conflicts on your online application
