Carole (Potenza) Cordi ‘67

Carole Ann (Potenza) Cordi, age 75, gained her wings on Friday, March 15, 2024 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Carole was born on March 10, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Richard and Gesilda (Rose) Potenza. She attended St. Francis DeSales High School and graduated in 1967. She obtained her Cosmetology license in 1969 and began her career as a hair stylist at Corelli's Salon. She later opened Capelli's Hair Designers in Columbus, Ohio and went on to become the owner and president of Steel Erectors International Inc. A one-of-a-kind person, Carole was a loving wife, mother, nonna and friend to all. She was never happier than when her home was full of friends and family. Selfless, she always put others first and was always there for everyone even during her toughest days. Carole loved music, dancing and sleepovers with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren’s fondest memories with her are late nights playing solitaire on the computer, playing with make-up, sneaking special treats before bed and the endless kindness, kisses, advice and support she gave them, including her weather bug alerts. Carole is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Angelo Cordi; children, Stacey (Lana Williams), Mark (Clistie) Cordi, Michael (Michelle) Cordi, Joe (Jess) Cordi, Marissa (Rocco) Lumbaca; grandchildren, Gianni, Adrienne Cordi; Kyerston, Malia, Gianna Cordi; Giovanni Cordi; Stella, Luciano Cordi; Rocco, Mia Lumbaca; Trinity and Trenton Cline; sibling, Barbara Potenza; aunt, Joanne Mangia and countless nieces, nephews and many dear cousins that were like brothers and sisters to her; and numerous other friends and relatives. And special dear friends, Marsha Weyrick and Lolita Lewis. Carole is preceded by Aunts and Uncles, Geneva (John) Faiella, Sistino (Settimia) Faiella, Lillian (Ray) Quint, Wilma (Nick) Pollina, Mary (Dan) Hollern, Elmo Faiella and Anthony Mangia; brothers-in-law, Michele Cordi, Antonio Scali, Giuseppe Cordi, Antonio Cordi, and Enrico Cordiano.
