Gina DiLoreto ‘97

Gina Marie DiLoreto, 44, of Delaware passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, June 23, 2023.

She was born January 15, 1979 in Columbus to Andy and Lynn (Grabill) DiLoreto and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus. She attended Miami University, Otterbein and Ohio State School of Cosmetology and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the Ohio State University. She began her teaching career at Buckeye Valley Schools and has spent the last year teaching 3rd grade at Garfield Elementary in Marion, Ohio.

A very social individual, Gina enjoyed spending time with family and friends but her greatest love was the pool and the beach. An avid reader, she also enjoyed True Crime documentaries, taking naps, Amazon, cardinals, and watching the Golden Girls. Gina was also a huge advocate for equal rights, PRIDE and mental illness.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kendall Buerger; daughter, Hayley Buerger; her parents of West Liberty; brothers, Marc (Ali) DiLoreto of Delaware and Joey DiLoreto of West Liberty; nephew, Nicolas DiLoreto of Delaware.

Gina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Bill and June Nirote and Ray Grabill and her paternal grandparents Andy and Rose DiLoreto.
