Thomas Owens ‘68

Tom was born March 22, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio to Bob and Frances (Betty) Owens. He was a 1968 graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School and 1972 graduate of Xavier University where he was a Psychology major.

He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Ilona, for 45 years. He was an accomplished salesman with Palmer-Donavin, where he won accolades for top sales in his more than 25-year career and was known by his colleagues for being the only guy to wear a white Oxford shirt and necktie to work each day.

Tom truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like coaching youth basketball and soccer in Dublin for many years. He also loved cheering on his children and attending each of their sporting events.

He had an uncanny ability to reach people. Tom truly cared about people and wanted everyone to be successful, so he frequently shared advice for success with anyone.

In his later years, Tom enjoyed traveling the world with Ilona, and his closest friends. He loved playing craps at any casino. Tom also enjoyed reading on his iPad and following the stock market.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ilona; daughter Jen (John Murchie); son, Pat (Erin); and grandchildren Luke, Jack and Nora.
