Alumni, current and future Stallions are all welcome to attend! This year’s event will include: all you can eat Pancake & Sausage breakfast, Bingo Games, Silent Auction, Bounce House, Putt-Putt, Face Painting, and more! Cost is $10 per person or $25 per family. Proceeds will benefit the Pizzurro Family Foundation that provides scholarships to incoming freshmen at DeSales.

The Pizzurro Family Foundation is a private, family foundation endowed in 2016. The Foundation was founded by Chris, Cara, Adam, and Dominic Pizzurro for philanthropic support and the advancement of pediatric cancer research, youth education, and organ donation. The Foundation’s focus areas are intended to continue the charitable workings of the late Tony and Debbie Pizzurro.

About Tony and Debbie and The Pizzurro Family:

Both Tony and Debbie were born and raised in Columbus, OH. In 1973, Tony graduated from Bishop Ready High School and Debbie from Northland High School. The two first met working at Chemical Abstracts Service. Tony was a computer operator and Debbie an administrative assistant. At the young ages of 20 and 21, the couple married in 1976. In 1984, they welcomed their first born, Christopher. Two years later, the family was blessed with twins, Cara and Adam. In 1991, their fourth and final, Dominic was born.

At 6 months old, Dominic was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer, hepatoblastoma. Over the course of several years, Dominic spent months at Children’s Hospital in Columbus and Cincinnati, OH where he underwent multiple operations and rounds of chemotherapy. While Tony and Debbie were fighting for one child’s life, they managed to remain actively engaged with the other children and their activities through the continuous support of family and friends. After three years waiting for a liver donor on the national transplant list, in 2005 Dominic received the gift of new life at the age of thirteen.

Eucharistic Adoration, Friday (5/3)

On Friday, May 3, we will celebrate Eucharistic Adoration at the school. The day will begin with Mass at 7 a.m. in the chapel followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for the entire school day. Eucharistic Adoration will close with Benediction at approximately 2:45 p.m . We would like to invite parents to sign up for a holy hour during the day to come and pray for the students, faculty, and staff. If you care to just drop in and make a visit to the chapel during the day, you may do that as well.

Contact Bill or Mary Beth Hinger at or call 614-560-1555 with any questions.

The intention of the upcoming Eucharistic Adoration is to pray for the members of our senior class as they discern their final post-secondary education plans, and in light of growing divisiveness in our world may our Church serve as a sanctuary for those who are fleeing political or religious persecution.
