  • ASTRONOMY CLUB

    Come explore the final frontier with the Astronomy Club! Past activities have included visits to COSI, the John Glenn Astronomy Park, meteor showers viewings, and informative meetings at school. We are members of the Astronomical Society at The Ohio State University and are welcomed at their meetings and activities.

  • ASIAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER STUDENT ASSOCIATION

    The Asian and Pacific-Islander Student Association will be a refuge and hub for important discussions among Asian students and their open-minded allies. Efforts will be made to advocate for the appreciation of all Asian countries including the differentiating factors that represent them. The APSA and its advisors will strive to educate those in the community about different cultures to bridge the understanding gap between Asians and non-Asians and widen the acceptance of those cultural differences.

  • BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

    The Battle of the Books Club divides a list of books among its members to compete in a Central Ohio competition in the spring. Meetings are held twice a month in the Media Center after school.

    This student run club meets twice a month on Mondays after school in the Media Center. The club chooses the books to be read and organizes activities and discussion.

  • Business club

    Business Club serves as a gathering for like minded business oriented students. The club holds monthly guest speaker presentations and hosts a “Sharktank” competition.

  • Chinese Club

    In the Chinese Club, members learn about Chinese culture, history, and language. Activities include Chinese games, eating Chinese food, watching movies, listening to music, dancing, cooking, and more. Please come have fun with us! HUAN YING!

  • Coding Club

    The goal of Coding Club is to create a space at school where students can create interesting things with code and make computer science accessible to everyone. We plan to meet weekly in order to teach programming concepts and apply them to real projects. You do not have to be an expert in computer science to join! Anyone that has an interest in coding is welcome.

  • Engineering Club

    The Engineering Club is designed to inspire students to pursue the engineering profession. Students participate in activities that foster teamwork, problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking. They experience engineering situations outside of the high school classroom in industries, universities, design firms and more!

  • French Club

    The French Club is open to any student who is interested in learning more about the French culture and is designed to promote and encourage the understanding of that culture. The club meets on a monthly basis to participate in activities including, but not limited to: making (and eating!) crepes, viewing French films and celebrating Francophone holidays.

  • History Club

    The history club provides students with an opportunity to further their interest in both United States and World History through potential involvement in the National History Day Competition, as well as going to movies and lectures geared toward historical topics.

  • In the Know

    The In the Know Team competes against other schools in an academic quiz bowl format at both varsity and junior varsity levels. The season runs from mid-October to mid-February.

  • Italian Club

    Italian club is open to students that enjoy Italian culture: food, bocce, playing cards, Italian art, music and family. There are opportunities to make pizzelles and cannoli, bocce tournaments, "Scopa" tournaments, special feast day masses at St. John the Baptist Church, Abruzzi Club dinners and food "tasting" from local favorite Italian restaurants.

  • Junior State of American (JSA)

    The JSA is the perfect club for students that are passionate about democracy, rights, and justice. This national organization was founded in 1934 to better educate high school students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be active, informed, and responsible leaders within our American democracy.

  • LASER

    LASER (Latino and Latin American Space for Enrichment and Research ) is a program at The Ohio State University. The program utilizes OSU resources to build connections within the community inspiring young Latinos to pursue a college education. LASER mentors come to SFDHS once a week to host tutoring sessions, mentor, and present college and career readiness sessions. Students also have opportunities to attend events and camps on OSU’s main campus.

  • Latin Club

    Latin club is open to all students interested in Ancient Roman culture. Our purpose is to promote fellowship and to have fun learning about Ancient Roman culture. The club meets at least once per month to make and eat food, play games, watch movies, celebrate Roman holidays, etc.

  • Math Club

    Math Club offers students a chance to earn bonus points for their math class through “Bonus Point Quizzes.” Quiz questions offer students the opportunity to practice standardized test questions. Math club is open to all students enrolled in a math class.

  • National Honor Society

    NHS is comprised of Juniors and Seniors who have an accumulated GPA of 3.60 or above after their sophomore year, have participated in a minimum of 10 hours of service, and receive the recommendations of 5 faculty members in the qualities of character and leadership. NHS members are required to complete a minimum of 60 hours of service before graduation, attend quarterly meetings, maintain a 3.60 accumulated GPA and remain in good conduct to receive recognition at graduation.

  • Spanish Club

    ¡Bienvenidos amigos! Don’t speak Spanish? No hay problema. All students are welcome. Come have fun in learning and promoting the richly diverse Hispanic cultures! Activities include dancing, Day of the Dead celebration, cooking, service oriented fundraisers, and increasing awareness of Hispanic traditions to the students, faculty and staff of SFDHS.

  • Student Council

    Each class chooses representatives for this student government organization. Student Council plans and organizes a wide variety of events and service projects for the school and community.

  • Future Vets Club

    Calling all animal lovers and future veterinary professionals! Activities may include visits to animal shelters, guest speakers, trips to the zoo, raising money for animal causes, and researching endangered species.
