Angelo Signoracci ‘02

Angelo Joseph Signoracci, 42, of Washington, D.C. passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, after courageously battling cancer for over two years. He was the loving son of Judy and Jon Signoracci of Galena, Ohio, and a devoted brother and uncle to Julie (Phil) Baker and their sons Holden and Dalton; Gino (Ally Garcia) and their children Roman and Solomiya; and Pietro (Michal Rosenn) and their daughter Elah. He was cherished by many aunts, uncles, and cousins in his extended Signoracci and Silon families, and many dear friends, especially Rhiannon Hutton and the other members of his D.C. care team, Tom Hutton, Larry and Margo Bailey, and J.P. Klingenberg and Molly Suda. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Angelo was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and was a valedictorian of the 2002 class at St. Francis de Sales High School. He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame before completing his Ph.D. in nuclear physics at Michigan State University and post-doctorate fellowships at the CEA/Saclay center in France and the University of Tennessee/Oak Ridge National Laboratory. As a researcher at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria, Virginia, he was a highly respected and widely recognized expert in the fields of nuclear physics, space and missile defense, and test and evaluation. He excelled at every stage of his academic and professional career, receiving numerous awards and accolades. He was exceptionally bright, deeply curious, and unwavering in his pursuit of truth.

Angelo cultivated close relationships with his family and long-lasting friendships through his thoughtfulness, generosity, and kindness. He was a practical, humble, minimalistic man of few words who enjoyed good food, wine, music, books, games, and soccer.

Angelo requested no formal services in his honor, true to his unassuming nature. Understanding the needs of those who loved him, a gathering will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2026 at Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio to give family and friends an opportunity to come together and remember his life.

The family expresses its deep gratitude to Dr. John L. Marshall and the entire team of doctors, nurses, and staff at the Georgetown University Hospital.
