Joe Van Skoy ‘75
Joe Van Skoy, age 67, of Columbus, Ohio, son of John Raymond Van Skoy and Katherine Van Skoy (Farr) passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 8. 2024. Joe was born in 1957 and has been a life long resident of Columbus, Ohio.
Joe attended and graduated from DeSales High School in 1975. From there he attended four years at the Ohio State University studying art and design. Joe was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity on the Ohio State Campus. Joe had many talents and passions. He was an extremely talented artist. Joe started his own Graphic Design Business (JR Graphics & Design) and had a large presence in many central Ohio business designs. Joe was truly a “people person” which made him a successful salesmen at Patrick Motors and Kelley BMW for many years. The job Joe was most proud of was his most current position as a security guard for the Franklin County Courthouse. Joe was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Worthington Moose Lodge #1427. His hobbies included Indy Racing, Stock Car Racing and anything aviation! Joe was also known to skydive back in the day as well.
Joe is survived by his sisters, Mary Kay Bernans (Van Skoy) and Kathy Metzger (Van Skoy) and follows his older brother Jim Van Skoy in to eternal rest with the Lord.
