Kelly meyer ‘87

Kelly Meyer went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 24, 2023 at the age of 53. She was an active member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Newark, Ohio as a parishioner and babysitter for Protecting God’s Children. She graduated from Saint Francis DeSales High School Columbus, Ohio with the class of 1987.

Kelly was a YMCA North coach of the year and volunteer who helped her youth teams win state titles in basketball, football, and soccer. Kelly was also an all-state softball superstar in high school. During her adult years, Kelly reached her ultimate goal of becoming a professional female football player for the Columbus Comets and Flames. Kelly was an announcer for USA Boxing, and she was awarded a state of Ohio MMA belt for her sponsorship of cage fighters. Her brother says, “Nobody would ever fight Kelly, so she cornered for males and females alike.”

Kelly is preceded in death by her mother, Vicki Meyer, of Louisville, Kentucky. She is survived by her father, Donald Lee Meyer, of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters, Terri Kegley and Jennifer Miller; brother, Perry Lee Meyer who proudly claims, “Kelly was my best friend and everybody’s angel. She kept her Faith, Hope, and Charity of Jesus to the very end.”
