Robert W. Hammond ‘66

Robert W. Hammond, Jr., born on September 2, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his residence in Marysville on January 4, 2026, with his family by his side. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family.

A proud 1966 graduate of Columbus DeSales High School, Robert dedicated 26 years of his professional life to Lennox Industries, where he retired from a fulfilling career. His work ethic and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

Robert attended Agape Church in Marysville and had a zest for life that was evident not only in his career but also in his personal interests. He enjoyed fishing and had a passion for collecting antiques, pursuits that often brought him joy and satisfaction.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Linda (Lower) Hammond, whom he married April 1, 1967 in Columbus; a son, Robert (Lynn) Hammond III of Marysville; a daughter, Lisa Renee (Darrin) Ray of Marion; and grandchildren, Robert Hammond IV, Wade Hammond, Ryan Vollrath, and Abby Vollrath. He is also survived by his sisters, Sheila Hammond of Mt. Vernon, and Sandra (Kevin) Edwards of Florida and a brother, Sam Hammond of Johnstown; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Patsy (Drumm) Hammond.
