Stewart Singleton Brown III ‘91
Stewart Singleton Brown III, age 53, of Brooklyn, New York, passed at his home on May 1, 2026.
He was born April 2, 1973, in Columbus, Ohio, graduated from Columbus DeSales High School in 1991, and later received his Associates Degree from Columbus State Community College. Stewart lived in the central Ohio area until moving to San Franscisco in 2003, Seattle in 2012, and then to Brooklyn in 2019.
Stewart is survived by his grandmother June Lowe (Lawrence Kaiser), father Stewart S. Brown Jr, stepmother Sharon Brown, mother Mary Weininger, stepfather Daryl Weininger, his partner Kristin Lysko, brother Nicholas, sister Colleen, and stepsister Kara Dickinson, as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Stewart was deeply loved by his family and friends, just as he loved them in return. Stewart was a talented musician and multi-instrumentalist, photographer, and artist. He influenced and inspired people with his music, photos, and philosophies. Through his photography, he possessed a unique ability to find beauty amidst shadows, just as he created music that deeply moved the heart, mind, and body.
While his quick wit and laughter instantly connected him to others, it was his smile that made you feel everything would be alright. He loved animals—especially his rescued chihuahuas, Newton and Sonic. He will be profoundly missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
