Kevin John McCrate, aged 66, of Westerville, Ohio, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Born on November 26, 1959, Kevin was a proud member of the St. Francis DeSales High School class of 1978 and maintained close friendships with many of his classmates throughout his life.
He began his career as a truck driver and rose to become a respected sales executive in the paper industry. His long and successful career allowed him to work closely with his father, and he was highly regarded by both customers and peers for his integrity and dedication.
Kevin married Kimberly (Brown) McCrate in 1994. Together they raised two beautiful children, Eric and Annie Faye, while cherishing time with extended family and friends in Ohio and West Virginia. Kevin was actively involved in his children’s lives, coaching their baseball and softball teams and supporting them in all their interests. He and Eric shared a special bond through boating, fishing, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns. Kevin and Annie enjoyed a particularly close relationship centered around her youth, travel, and college softball journey.
Like his brothers, Kevin was an accomplished cook who loved spending time in the kitchen with his wife Kim and daughter Annie, preparing new recipes and family favorites.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Annie Faye McCrate (1999-2024), his father, James Martin McCrate (1937–2002), his sister, Mary Beth McCrate (1967–2025), his grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and his cousin Christine (Collins) Perkins.
